The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of N-(2-carboxy-5- chloro-phenyl)glycine of the formula (1) (see fig. I) which comprises reacting 2,4-dichlorobenzoic acid of the formula (2) (see fig. II) with glycine and a base in water at a temperature of 50 to 200°C in the presence of copper and oxygen at a pH of 7 to 13.

Cette invention présente un procédé pour la préparation de N-(2-carboxy-5-chlorophényle)glycine de la formule (1) (voir figure I) qui comprend un acide 2,4-dichlorobenzoïque réactif de la formule (2) (voir figure II), avec de la glycine et une base dans de l'eau, dont la température varie entre 50 et 200 degrés C, en présence de cuivre et d'oxygène, et dont le pH est de 7 à 13.
