The invention relates to a process for the preparation of 5-formylvaleric acid or the corresponding 5-formylvalerate byhydroformylation of 3-pentenoic acid or 3-pentenoate ester with carbon monoxide and hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst comprising of rhodium and a phosphite ligand, wherein the phosphite ligand is represented by general formula (2), where R1 and R2 are the same or different aromatic organic groups and where A is an n-valent group or atom and where n is an integer chosen upwards of 2 and where the respective [-O-P (OR1) (OR2)] group may be the same group or different groups and where the phosphite forms a chelate-type complex with rhodium.
Cette invention concerne un procédé permettant de préparer de l'aide 5-formylvalérique ou le 5-formylvalérate correspondant, par hydroformylation d'acide 3-penténoique ou d'ester 3-penténoate avec du monoxyde de carbone et de l'hydrogène en présence d'un catalyseur formé de rhodium et d'un ligand phosphite, ledit ligand phosphite étant représenté par la formule (2), dans laquelle R?1¿ et R?2¿ sont identiques ou représentent des groupes organiques aromatiques différents; A représente un atome ou un groupe de valence n; n représente un entier supérieur à 2; le groupe respectif [-O-P (OR?1¿) (OR?2¿)] pouvant représenter le même groupe ou des groupes différents et le phosphite formant avec le rhodium un complexe de type chélate.
