A process for the isolation of desired compound(s) from a microbial biomass is diclosed, wherein the microbial biomass (which, if necessary, is pretreated to give a dry matter content of from 25 to 80 %) is granulated (e.g. by extrusion) and then dried to a dry matter content of at least 80 %. The granulation of the biomass to granules significantly eases subsequent drying of the biomass (which can be stored as dried granules) and gives higher yields on extraction of the compound(s).

L'invention a pour objet un procédé pour isoler de(s) composé(s) requis à partir d'une biomasse microbienne. Selon ce procédé, la biomasse microbienne (qui, si nécessaire, est prétraitée pour obtenir une teneur en matière sèche comprise entre 25 et 80 %) est granulée (par exemple, par extrusion) puis séchée jusqu'à obtention d'une teneur en matière sèche d'au moins 80 %. La granulation de la biomasse en granules facilite fortement le séchage ultérieur de la biomasse (qui peut être stockée sous forme de granules séchés et améliore le rendement lors de l'extraction du (des) composé(s).
