Process for the preparation of a linear .omega.-formyl-carboxylic acid or a corresponding linear formyl-nitrile compound starting from an internally unsaturated C4-C12 carboxylic acid or a corresponding ester or nitrile by means of hydroformylation in the presence of carbon monoxide, hydrogen and a catalyst system, wherein the hydroformylation is carried out in an aqueous medium and in that the catalyst system comprises platinum and a water-soluble organic bidentate ligand.
L'invention se rapporte à un procédé de préparation d'un acide .omega.-formyl-carboxylique linéaire, ou d'un composé formyl-nitrile linéaire correspondant, à partir d'un acide carboxylique C¿4?-C¿12? insaturé à l'intérieur ou d'un ester ou nitrile correspondant, par hydroformylation en présence de monoxyde de carbone, d'hydrogène et d'un système catalyseur. L'hydroformylation est effectuée dans un milieu aqueux et le système catalyseur comprend du platine et un groupe bicoordiné organique soluble dans l'eau.
