A B S T R A C T A process for the preparation of a load of coal containing at most 70%w of lumps of coal and at least 30%w of coal fines and water, comprising mixing coal fines with a water content of at least 5%w, or a slurry of coal fines with a water content of at least 25%w, with lumps of coal, the particle size of the coal fines being less than 10% of that of the smallest lumps of coal. The invention relates moreover to a load of coal prepared according to this process.
