ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE For the connection of line portions made from thermo- plastic material and which diverge from the general turn config- uration, a welded sleeve is formed by a sleeve member with a coil of a resistance heating wire arranged on the inner wall. Sleeve member has an inner portion in whose grooves is arranged the resistance heating wire and which is surrounded by an outer portion. Ridges arranged in the bottom of the groove form bend- ing or deformation points in the turns of the coil. On welding the sleeve, the turns expand, but due to the bending or deforma- tion points, the resistance heating wire is only deformed at these particular points and the actual turns are held in position.
