The invention relates to a process for the preparation of a pure and solid, sulfate- and hydroxide-based ferric compound such as ferric hydroxysulfate or sodium jarosite, the process comprising the following procedures: a) a sulfate- and/or chloride-based ferric salt is prepared, b) an acidic aqueous solution is prepared which comprises either sulfate ions and ferric ions or sulfate, chloride and ferric ions, c) the acidic aqueous solution is maintained for 2-12 h at a temperature of 60-220 °C for the production of a solid, sulfate- and hydroxide-based ferric compound, such as ferric hydroxysulfate or sodium jarosite, by hydrolysis, and d) the pure and solid sulfate- and hydroxide-based ferric com- pound, such as ferric hydroxysulfate or sodium jarosite, is separated from the acidic aqueous solution. The processes for the preparation of ferric hydroxysulfate and sodium jarosite differ substantially only in that in the pre- paration of sodium jarosite an acid aqueous solution is pre- pared which, in addition to the either sulfate and ferric ions or sulfate, chloride and ferric ions, also contains a water- soluble sodium compound, in which case sodium jarosite is formed instead of ferric hydroxysulfate in the hydrolysis of point c) of the process.
L'invention se rapporte à un procédé de préparation d'un composé ferrique pur et solide, à base de sulfate et d'hydroxyde, tel que de l'hydroxysulfate ferrique ou de la jarosite de sodium, ce procédé comprenant les étapes suivantes: a) on prépare un sel ferrique de sulfate ou de chlorure, b) on prépare une solution aqueuse acide comprenant soit des ions sulfate et des ions ferriques, soit des ions sulfate, des ions chlorure et des ions ferriques, c) on maintient cette solution aqueuse acide pendant 2 à 12 heures à une température comprise entre 60 et 220 ~C afin d'obtenir par hydrolyse un composé ferrique solide de sulfate et d'hydroxyde, tel qu'un hydroxysulfate ferrique ou de la jarosite de sodium, et d) on sépare de la solution aqueuse acide le composé ferrique de sulfate et d'hydroxyde, tel que l'hydroxysulfate ferrique ou la jarosite de sodium. Les procédés de préparation de l'hydroxysulfate ferrique et de la jarosite de sodium diffèrent sensiblement seulement en ce que pour la préparation du jarosite de sodium, on utilise une solution aqueuse acide qui, outre les ions sulfate ou ferriques, ou les ions sulfate, chlorure et ferriques, contient également un composé de sodium soluble dans l'eau, auquel cas on obtient de la jarosite de sodium au lieu de l'hydroxysulfate ferrique, lors de l'étape d'hydrolyse c) du procédé.
