The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of syn-enriched 5-amino-9-isopropyl-benzonorbomene in which the ratio of compounds of formula (Ia (syn)) to compounds of formula (Ib (anti)) is from 70:30 to 99:1, which process comprises reacting a compound of formula (Il) in a pressure vessel with hydrogen in the presence of a palladium catalyst and a solvent, at a pressure of at least 2 bar and a temperature of from 00C to 45°C, to form syn-enriched 5-amino-9-isopropyl-benzonorbomene.

La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé de préparation de 5-amino-9-isopropyl-benzonorbomene enrichi de type syn dans lequel le ratio des composés de la formule Ia (syn) et des composés de la formule Ib (anti) est compris entre 70:30 et 99:1. Le procédé comprend la réaction d'un composant de la formule Il dans un récipient sous pression contenant de l'hydrogène et en présence d'un catalyseur palladium et d'un solvant, sous une pression d'au moins 2 bars et à une température comprise entre 0°C et 45°C, vers la forme 5-amino-9-isopropyl-benzonorbomene enrichie de type syn.
