The invention relates to a novel process for the preparation of an aminoalcohol of the formula: (see formula I) in the form of a racemate or one of its optically active isomers, or a salt thereof, comprising hydrolysing a cyclopentene derivative of general formula III, (see formula II) in the form of a racemate or one of its optically active isomers, in which R is C1-4-alkyl, C1-4-alkoxy, aryl or aryloxy, with an alkali metal hydroxide.

L'invention a trait à un nouveau procédé pour la préparation d'un mélange racémique ou d'un isomère optiquement actif d'un aminoalcool de formule (voir la formule I), ou un sel de ce dernier, faisant intervenir l'hydrolyse d'un dérivé de cyclopentène de formule générale III (voir la formule III) sous forme de mélange racémique ou d'un de ses isomères optiquement actifs, où R est un alkyle en C1 à C4, un alkoxy en C1 à C4, un aryle ou un aryloxy, avec un hydroxyde de métal alcalin.
