A b s t r a c t Anion-exchange resins made by aminoalkylating an alkylatable resin in solvent-swollen condition with bis-dicarboxyimidomethyl ethers in a reaction mixture con- taining essentially unhydrated SO3 that can be added in the form of a solution in H2SO4 or other solvent or as a complex with the alkylating ether, or in undissolved condi- tion. The acylaminoalkylated product thus formed is de- acylated as by hydrolysis and can have the resulting amino group alkylated and even quaternized.
