A B S T R A C T "PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF BENZOXAZOLONE" Benzoxazolone, which is a compound useful for the preparation of inter alia an insecticide, is obtained by reacting salicylamide (optionally in the form of a phenate salt) with hypochlorite ions, in the presence of water and of hydroxyl ions, sodium ions and potassium ions.
