The invention concerns the preparation of cationic surfactants derived from the condensation of an acid, preferably a fatty acid or a hydroxy acid with a number of carbon atoms of 8 - 14 with esterified amino acids, preferably basic- type amino acids, more preferably (L)-arginine. The method comprises a first step in which the esterifiction of the amino acid with an alcohol is performed and a second step for the condensation with a chloride of an acid, preferably an acyl chloride of a fatty acid or a hydroxy acid, whereby the second step is performed in an aqueous environment with a pH value between (6 and 7), preferably between (6, 7) and (6, 9).

L'invention concerne la préparation de tensio-actifs cationiques issues de la condensation d'un acide, de préférence un acide gras ou un acide hydroxy présentant un certain nombre d'atomes de carbone 8-14 avec des acides aminés estérifiés, de préférence des acides aminés de type basique, et encore mieux, de la (L)-arginine. Le procédé consiste en une première étape d'estérification de l'acide aminé avec un alcool, la seconde étape consiste en la condensation réalisée à l'aide d'un chlorure d'un acide, de préférence, un chlorure d'acyle d'un acide gras ou un acide hydroxy. La seconde étape est réalisée dans un milieu aqueux présentant un pH entre 6 et 7, de préférence entre 6,7 et 6,9.
