RESUME L'invention concerne un nouveau procédé de préparation de dérivés de la 17? -hydroxy 19-norprogestérone. Elle a plus particulièrement pour objet un procédé qui consiste à soumettre un 3-alcoxy 19-nor pregna 3, 5, 17 (20)- triène à l'action d'un réactif de formylation pour obtenir le dérivé 6-formylé correspondant,réduire celui-ci en dérivé 6-hydroxyméthylé que l'on deshydrate en dérivé méthylénique par action d'un acide fort,isomériser ce dernier en dérivé 6-méthyl pregna 4, 6, 17 (20)-triénique, que l'on fait réagir avec un réactif de bis-hydroxylation pour former la 17 -? hydroxy 19-nor progesterone correspondante que l'on peut acyler par action d'un dérivé fonctionnel d'acide carboxy- lique saturé ou non saturé. Les composés obtenus selon ce procédé trouvent un emploi en thérapeutique comme agents progestatifs.
