A method of producing 4,6-diaminoresorcinol comprising: a) reducing a dinitroarylether of formula (I), wherein R is hydrogen, C1-C6 alkyl, cycloalkyl or CH=CH2, R' is hydrogen or CH2-R, each A is independently Cl, Br, or l, and n is 0, 1 or 2; to form a diaminoarylether; and b) cleaving the ether group(s) from the diaminoarylether under conditions such that 4,6- diaminoresorcinol is formed as a salt or other stabilized form thereof.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de préparation de 4,6-diaminorésorcinol comprenant les phases suivantes: (a) réduction d'un dinitroaryléther conforme à la formule générale (I) où R est hydrogène, alkyle C¿1?-C¿6?, cycloalkyle ou CH=CH¿2?; R' est hydrogène ou CH¿2?-R, chaque A représentant indépendamment Cl, Br ou I, et n valant 1 ou 2; ladite réduction servant à former un diaminoaryléther, et (b) clivage des groupes éther à partir du diaminoaryléther dans des conditions permettant de produire ledit 4,6-diaminorésorcinol sous forme de sel ou de l'une de ses autres formes stabilisées.
