- 1 - HOE 89/F 147K Abstract Process for the preparation of an ethylene polymer The homopolymerization of ethylene or the copolymeriza- tion of ethylene with other 1-olefins is carried out using a catalyst which is composed of a trialkylaluminum and the over-all product of the reaction of a magnesium alcoholate, dissolved in an inert solvent, with a tetra- valent transition metal compound and an organoaluminum compound and optionally an electron donor. This gives a coarse-particle polymer having a high bulk density.
