Abstract The present invention is directed to novel halogenated pyridine derivatives of the formula Image wherein X is halogen, Y is bromine, chlorine or fluorine and A is fluorine or an amino group with the proviso that when A is fluorine, Y cannot also be fluorine. These compounds are useful in the preparation of the corresponding 2.3-difluoropyridines.
