Process for the preparation of hydroxyphenyl-1,3.5-triazines Abstract of the Disclosure A simple process for the preparation of a triazine of formula (1) is described, which comprises converting a dihydrotriazine of formula (2) with a reducing agent to a1,3,5-triazine of formula (1). The triazines obtained by the novel process are suitable UV absorbers for organic materials, in particular for polyester fibre materials, or suitable starting materials for the preparation of UV absorbers.
