Abstract of the Disclosure: A process had been found for the preparation of the dye- stuff C.I. Acid Red 42 in its acid form which has improved technological properties and an electrolyte content of less than 15 % by weight. Dyestuff solutions and printing pastes of the dyestuff prepared according to the invention are liquid and pourable and do not form a gel and yield dyeings and prints of a substantially purer and level shade and of higher color intensity than C.I. Acid Red 42 hiterto know in the art. The invention also concerns dyeing compositions of the dyestuff prepared according to the present invention, con- taining said dyestuff and usual non-ionic extenders and op- tionally dyeing auxiliary agents.
