The invention relates to a process for the preparation of 2H-isoflavones which process comprises the reaction of a 2-hydroxyaryl alkyl ketone in the presence of a base with a formic-sulfuric anhydride salt which reaction is followed by neutralization. The procedure is especially suitable for the preparation of genistein.

L'invention concerne un procédé servant à préparer des isoflavones 2H. Ce procédé comprend la réaction d'un 2-hydroxyaryl alkyl cétone en présence d'une base dotée d'un sel d'anhydride formique sulfurique, ladite réaction étant suivie par une neutralisation. Ce procédé est notamment approprié à la préparation de la génistéine.
