ABSTRACT PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF MALATHION Process for the preparation of malathion by reacting an excess of O,O-dimethyl-dithiophosphoric acid with ethyl maleate in the presence of a solvent which forms a heterogeneous azeotrope with the 0,0- dimethyl-dithiophosphoric acid, and removing the excess O,O-dimethyl-dithiophosphoric acid by azeotropic distillation.
