PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: Procédé pour la production d'un mercaptan primaire ou secondaire à partir des dérivés thiocarbonylés (thio-aldéhydes ou thio-cétones) correspondants, caractérisé en ce que l'on chauffe entre 100° et 300°C le dérivé thiocarbonylé en présence d'un mercaptan partenaire, et d'un catalyseur constitué par un ou plusieurs oxydes de métaux des groupes II et III de la Clas- sification Périodique des éléments, éventuellement actives par une base alcaline. Le composé thiocarbonylé peut être formé in situ à partir du composé carbonylé et d'hydrogène sulfuré. Ce procédé est particulièrement intéressant pour l'ob- tention de thiols secondaires difficiles à obtenir par les mé- thodes déjà connues.
