Rubber-modified monovinylidene aromatic copolymers having an enhanced combination of gloss, toughness and melt flow characteristics are provided by a process wherein a rubber latex having a specified particle size is partially agglomerated, emulsion graft polymerized to a specified graft copolymer to rubber (G:R) ratio and a specified graft copolymer molecular weight and further agglomerated during subsequent dewatering and/or melt-compounding operations.

Des copolymères aromatiques de monovinylidène modifiés par le caoutchouc présentant une combinaison améliorée de caractéristiques telles que brillant, dureté et fluidité à la fusion, sont obtenus par un procédé dans lequel un latex de caoutchouc ayant une grosseur particulaire déterminée est partiellement aggloméré, polymérisé en émulsion par greffage selon un rapport copolymère greffé déterminé/caoutchouc et une masse moléculaire du copolymère greffé déterminé, et est également aggloméré lors d'un égouttage ultérieur et/ou d'opérations de mélange par fusion.
