L'invention concerne la préparation de N(dichloro- phosphoryl) trichlorophosphazène à partir de pentachlorure de phosphore et de chlorure d'ammonium. Selon ce procédé, les deux réactifs ci-dessus mentionnés sont mis en contact en présence de POCl3 pour obtenir le produit de formule P3NCl12, et le milieu réactionnel contenant P3NCl12 est traité par SO2 tout en étant maintenu à une température au plus égale à environ 30°C. Ce procédé conduit à l'obtention d'un phosphazène incolore ou très faiblement coloré.
