Abstract of the Disclosure Piperidines of the formula Image (I) in which R1 is a substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl radical, alk1 and alk2 independently of one another are lower alkylene radicals, each of which separates by 2 carbon atoms the nitrogen atom bonded thereto from the methine group bonded thereto, R2 is a free or acylated hydroxyl group, Ph is a substituted or unsubstituted o- phenylene radical, n is 0 or 1, R3 is a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl radical or a hydroxyl group and R5 is a lower alkyl radical or a hydrogen atom, or R3 and R5 together are a second bond and R4 and R6 are each a hydrogen atom, or R4 together with R3 is an oxo group, R5 is a lower alkyl radical or a hydrogen atom and R6 is a hydrogen atom, or R6 together with R5 is an oxo group, R3 is a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl radical or a hydroxyl group and R4 is a hydrogen atom, or salts thereof are antihyper- tensive and antiarrhythmic agents.
