AE 6268 A B S T R A C T The invention relates to a process for the preparation of objects comprising at least a layer of polyethylene with a melt index of at most 0.15 and an elastomeric layer bonded directly to it, these layers being bonded at elevated pressure and at a temperature above the melting point of the polyethylene, and the polyethylene having a weight-average molecular weight of at least 0.5 x 106 kg/kmole and the polyethylene layer to be bonded having been obtained by removing the solvent from a layer of polyethylene gel.
