ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved process for producing a peptide which comprises treating a phosphoramide derivative of the formula: Image wherein R1 and R2 are each an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group, and A1 is a peptide residue with a phosphorus acid to produce a peptide of the formula A1 - NH2 wherein A1 is as hereinbefore defined.
