This invention relates to a process for preparing perylene pigment compositions by (a) reacting, at a temperature of less than about 25°C, a mixture of (1) a perylene tetracarboxylic compound, (2) at least about 0.1% by weight, relative to the perylene tetracarboxylic compound, of a surfactant of formula (I) (see formula I) wherein R1, R2, R3, X, Y, Z, and Z' are defined herein, (3) an equivalent excess, relative to the amount of the perylene tetracarboxylic compound, of ammonia or a primary amine R A-NH2, wherein R A is defined herein, and (4) optionally, a solvent, to form a perylene intermediate; (b) heating the perylene intermediate at a temperature of about 50°C to about 250°C, optionally in the presence of certain non-pigmentary cyclic anhydrides or imides and/or solvents; and (c) collecting the perylene pigment composition.
La présente invention a pour objet un procédé de préparation de compositions de pigments à base de pérylène. Ce procédé consiste à : a) faire réagir à une température inférieure à environ 25 .degrés.C un mélange de (1) un pérylène tétracarboxylique, (2) au moins environ 0,1 % en poids, par rapport au poids de pérylène tétracarboxylique, d'un surfactant de formule (I) (voir la formule I) dans laquelle R1, R2, R3, X, Y, Z et Z' sont définis dans la divulgation, (3) un excès équivalent, par rapport à la quantité de pérylène tétracarboxylique, d'ammoniac ou d'une amine primaire RA-NH2, dans laquelle RA est défini dans la divulgation, (4) éventuellement, un solvant, pour former un intermédiaire pérylènique; b) chauffer cet intermédiaire à une température d'environ 50 à environ 250 .degrés.C, eventuellement en présence de certains anhydrides ou imides et/ou solvants cycliques non pigmentaires; c) collecter la composition de pigment à base de pérylène.
