PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF PHOSGENE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Phosgene is prepared from chlorine and carbon monoxide by plural stage catalytic interreaction wherein all of the chlorine requirement and at least some but less than all of the carbon monoxide requirement is introduced to a first stage reaction zone, with the remaining required carbon monoxide being introduced to downstream reaction zone(s) serially connected to said first stage reaction zone.
