- 1 - HOE 91/F 381 Abstract: Process for the preparation of polyarylenesiloxanes by melt condensation of readily volatile silanes with high- melting bisphenols. Process for the preparation of polyarylenesiloxanes by melt condensation, in which difunctional silanes having a boiling point of ?130°C are reacted with bisphenols which have a melting point above 110°C, in the presence of a catalyst, at temperatures in the range from 35 to 200°C. Bisphenols of the formula II Image (II) and difunctional silanes of the formula (III) Image are preferably used. The catalysts used are aromatic or aliphatic amine compounds.
