Abstract of the Disclosure Perfluorocarbonyl compounds of the formula V Image In which Rf denotes perfluoroalkyl, R'f denotes perfluoroalkylene, R denotes F, Cl, perfluoroalky; or -OR"', (R"' ? alkyl, aryl or aralkyl) and n aenotes a number from 0 to 10, are prepared, starting from compounds of the formula I Image I in which Rf, R'f and n have the same meaning as in the formula V and R" is F, Cl or perfluoroalkyl, by electrolysis in an elecerolyte consisting of fluorosulfonic acid/alkali metal fluorosulfonate and esterification with R"'OH, and decomposition (conversion of the Image group into the -?- group) in the presence of catalytic amounts of alkali metal fluorides and/or aprotic N-bases. Host of the compounds V are new. The compounds are valuable heat transfer fluids, lubricating oils or intermediates for the preparation of other F-organic compounds.
