The invention relates to a process for the preparation of polymers containing NO terminal groups and to compositions comprising polymers obtained by this process. The process comprises polymerizing by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) an aliphatic monomer of oligomer containing ethylene groups in the presence of a polymerization initiator.
