ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process is described for the preparation of a com- position that includes a polyphenylene oxide resin, an alkenyl aromatic resin and a rubbery impact modifier. The composition is prepared by dissolving polyphenylene oxide and a rubbery impact modifier in an alkenyl aromatic monomer and thereafter heating the mixture to thermally polymerize the alkenyl aromatic monomer.
