The invention relates to a process for the preparation of olefin polymers by polymerisation using a transition metal catalyst with the addition of an aminoalkyl-1,1'-biphenyl- 2,2'-diylphosphite or aminoalkyl-2,2'-alkylidene-bis(phenyl)phosphite, in conjunction with optional further modifiers. The polymers obtainable in this manner have excellent long-term stability.
