A novel process is disclosed for producing stilbazolium salts. Said novel process employs a heterocyclic amine catalyst, such as pyrrolidine, an alkylated pyridine salt and a substituted benzaldehyde which unexpectedly results in increased reaction rates and product yields.

L'invention concerne un nouveau procédé de production de sels de stilbazolium. Ledit nouveau procédé utilise une amine hétérocyclique en tant que catalyseur, telle qu'une pyrrolidine, un sel de pyridine alkylé ainsi qu'un benzaldéhyde à substitution ayant pour résultat innatendu d'augmenter les vitesses de réaction et les rendements en produit.
