The invention discloses a process for the preparation of the polymorph A of doxazosin mesylate, consisting essentially of reacting doxazosin base with methanesulfonic acid in a mixture of solvents containing an alcohol and a chlorinated solvent, subsequently removing the chlorinated solvent by distillation and precipitating the desired product in an alcohol, after heating the suspension formed to the reflux temperature of the solvent.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'obtenir le polymorphe A du mésylate de doxazosine. Ce procédé consiste essentiellement à faire réagir la doxazosine basique avec l'acide méthanesulfonique dans un mélange de dissolvants qui contient un alcool et un dissolvant chloré, puis à éliminer le dissolvant chloré par distillation, enfin à précipiter le produit voulu dans un alcool, après avoir réchauffé la suspension formée à la température de reflux du dissolvant.
