ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of compounds of general formula I, Image (1) wherein R represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical contain- ing from 1 to 9 carbon atoms and R1 represents an alkyl radical containing from 1 to 5 carbon atoms, which comprises cyclising a compound of formula II, Image (II) wherein R and R1 are as defined above, Ar represents an aryl group and R2 and R3, which may be the same or different, each represents an esterifying group and if required, hydrolysing the resulting compound to obtain the corresponding free acid. The compounds of general formula I possess interesting anti-allergic activity.
