ABSTRACT A process for the production of 2,5-bis-(hydrocarbyl- dithio)-1,3,4-thiadiazoles 2,5-bis-(hydrocarbyldithio)-1,3,4-thiadiazoles are produced by the reaction of 2-hydrocarbyldithio- 5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole with hydrocarbyl mercaptan and hydrogen peroxide at a temperature of from 0 to 100°C.
