A PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF CLEANING-RESISTANT NONWOVEN MATERIALS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An aqueous dispersion of copolymers are used as binders for the production of optionally dry-cleanable nonwoven materials. The copolymers consist of copolymerized units of 1 - 2,5% by weight of N-methylol(meth)acrylamlde, 1 - 2,5% by weight of (meth)acrylamide, 0,5 - 3% by weight of .alpha.,.beta.-monoolefinically unsaturated di- or tricarboxylic acids: with 4 to 6 carbon atoms and 89,5 - 97,5% by weight of (meth)- acrylic acid esters having 1 - 18 carbon atoms in the alcohol component.
