Process for the production of di- and poly( diamino diphenyl methane) comprising the steps of (a) reacting aniline and formaldehyde in the presence of an acid catalyst to produce a reaction mixture containing di- and polyamines; (b) neutralising the reaction mixture containing di- and polyamines; (c) separating the neutralised reaction mixture into an organic phase containing di- and polyamines and an aqueous phase; (d) further treating the organic phase separated off in step (c) by (d1) washing with water followed by (d2) separating the washed mixture into an organic phase and an aqueous phase and (d3) further fractionation of the organic phase to produce purified di- and polyamines on the one hand and aniline/water on the other hand; (e) further treating the aqueous phase separated off in step (c) by (el) washing with aniline followed by (e2) separating the washed mixture into an aqueous phase and an organic phase and (e3) further treatment of the aqueous phase to remove the aniline thereby leaving an effluent stream wherein phase separation in step (c) and/or step (e2) is facilitated by using any of the following methods either on its own or in combination with one or more of the other methods: (A) removal of some of the water from the neutralised reaction mixture obtained in step (b) or the aqueous phase separated in step (c); (B) addition of inorganic salt to the neutralised reaction mixture obtained in step (b) or the aqueous phase separated in step (c); (C) return of some of the aqueous phase obtained in step (e2) or (e3) to the neutralised reaction mixture obtained in step (b) or to the washed mixture in step (e1).
L'invention concerne un procédé de production de di- et poly( diamino diphényl méthane) consistant à : (a) faire réagir l'aniline et le formaldéhyde en présence d'un catalyseur acide pour produire un mélange de réaction contenant les di- et polyamines; (b) neutraliser le mélange de réaction contenant les di- et polyamines; (c) séparer le mélange de réaction neutralisé en une phase organique contenant les di- et polyamines et en une phase aqueuse; (d) traiter ensuite la phase organique séparée à l'étape (c) par (d1) lavage à l'eau suivi de (d2) la séparation du mélange lavé en une phase organique et en une phase aqueuse et (d3) fractionner ensuite la phase organique pour produire les di- et polyamines purifiés d'une part et l'aniline/eau d'autre part; (e) traiter la phase aqueuse séparée à l'étape (c) par (e1) lavage de l'aniline suivi de (e2) la séparation du mélange lavé et en une phase aqueuse et en une phase organique et (e3) traiter la phase aqueuse pour éliminer l'aniline, quittant ainsi un courant d'effluent. La séparation de phase à l'étape (c) et/ou à l'étape (e2) est facilitée à l'aide de quelconques des procédés suivants, soit seule, soit en combinaison avec un ou plusieurs des autres procédés : (A) élimination d'une partie de l'eau provenant du mélange de réaction neutralisé obtenu à l'étape (b) ou de la phase aqueuse séparée à l'étape (c); (B) addition d'un sel inorganique au mélange de réaction neutralisé obtenu à l'étape (b) ou de la phase aqueuse séparée à l'étape (c); (C) renvoi d'une partie de la phase aqueuse obtenue à l'étape (e2) ou (e3) au mélange de réaction neutralisé obtenu à l'étape (b) ou au mélange lavé à l'étape (e1).
