A process for preparing fluticasone propionate as crystalline polymorphic Form 1 which comprises reacting a compound of formula (II)or a salt thereof with a compound of formula LCH2F wherein L represents leaving group optionally in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst, a water-immiscible non-solvating organic liquid solvent and water is described.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour préparer du propionate de fluticasone sous forme 1 cristalline polymorphe. Selon ce procédé, on met à réagir un composé de formule (II) ou un sel de ce composé avec un composé de formule LCH¿2?F, dans laquelle L représente un groupe partant, éventuellement en présence d'un catalyseur de transfert de phase, un solvant liquide organique non solvaté et non miscible dans l'eau et de l'eau.
