Process for the preparation of heterophasic polyolefin compositions comprising; i) a stage where a) the polymerization of the propylene to form a crystalline propylene or ethylene polymer, and b) the copolymerization of the ethylene with a C3-C10 .alpha.-olefin take place to form an elastomeric copolymer; said stage being carried out in the presence of a Ziegler-Natta catalyst; ii) a treatment stage where the polymer obtained in polymerization stage (i) is made to contact with: a) a compound capable of deactivating the catalist present in said stage i); and b) a catalyst (2) obtained by containing (I) a compound containing a transition metal M, and at least one ligand coordinated with the metal M by a .pi. bond, and (II) a cocatalyst; iii) a copolymerization stage where the ethylene and a C3-C10.alpha.-olefin are polymerized in the presence of a polymer treated as in stage (ii), and said catalyst (2).
L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation de compositions de polyoléfines hétérophasiques comprenant: I) une phase dans laquelle a) la polymérisation du propylène pour former un polymère de propylène ou d'éthylène cristallin, et b) la copolymérisation de l'éthylène avec une .alpha.-oléfine C¿3?-C¿10? ont lieu pour former un copolymère élastomère; ladite phase étant exécutée en la présence d'un catalyseur Ziegler-Natta; ii) une phase de traitement dans laquelle le polymère obtenu dans la phase de polymérisation (i) est mis au contact de: a) un composé capable de désactiver le catalyseur présent dans ladite phase (i); et b) un catalyseur (2) obtenu par contact (I) d'un composé contenant un métal de transition M, et d'au moins un ligand coordonné avec le métal M par une liaison .pi., et (II) un cocatalyseur; iii) une phase de copolymérisation dans laquelle l'éthylène et une .alpha.-oléfine C¿3?-C¿10? sont polymérisés en la présence d'un polymère traité tel que dans la phase (ii), et dudit catalyseur (2).
