A B S T R A C T A PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF LOW-ASPHALTENES HYDROCARBON MIXTURES Deasphalted oils and distillates are produced from asphaltenes-containing hydrocarbons by two-step solvent- deasphalting (yielding a high quality DAO-1, a DAO-2 of lower quality and asphalt) and converting the asphalt by catalytic hydrotreatment into a product having a reduced RCT which is separated by distillation into distillate fraction(s) and a residue which is used as a feed component for solvent- deasphalting or converted by thermal or catalytic cracking and separating the cracked product by distillation into distillate fraction(s) and a residue which is used as a feed component for solvent-deasphalting.
