ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for the wet comminution of mineral fillers such as natural calcium carbonates is provided. The wet com- minution is effected in the absence of any dispersing agent to obtain a solids concentration in the resulting liquid suspension of less than 60% by weight, The suspension is filtered to obtain a solids cake containing about 20% by weight water. The cake may be reconstituted into a suspension containing 80% by weight solids by the addition of a dispersing agent, or the cake may be dried to form a powdery mineral filler product free of dispersing agent.
