The present invention is related to a process for producing radioiodinated neuroreceptor agents with improved yields. In said process the trialkyltin group of the precursor of the neuroreceptor agent is replaced by radioiodine in the presence of an oxidation agent, preferably Chloramine T in a pH adjusted by a buffering system comprising inorganic or organic acids and their salts. The end-products are subsequently separated from the by-products using chromatographic separation methods such as high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), wherein the mobile solvent phase comprises a mixture of ethanol and water having a pH of 1-6. The improved yields are obtainable by preventing the formation of volatile radioactive by-products and by using a non-toxic solvent system in the chromatographic separation process, which simplifies the down stream processing of the end product.

Procédé de production d'agents neurorécepteurs marqués à l'iode radioactif à rendement amélioré. Selon ledit procédé, le groupe trialkyltine du précurseur de l'agent neurorécepteur est remplacé par de l'iode radioactif en présence d'un agent d'oxydation, de préférence la chloramine T dans un pH ajusté par un système tampon comportant des acides inorganiques ou organiques et leurs sels. Les produits finaux sont ensuite séparés des sous-produits à l'aide de procédés de séparation chromatographiques tels que la chromatographie liquide à haute performance, la phase de solvant mobile comprenant un mélange d'éthanol et d'eau ayant un pH de 1 à 6. Les rendements sont améliorés grâce au fait que l'on empêche la formation de sous-produits radioactifs volatils et que l'on utilise un système solvant non toxique dans le processus de séparation chromatographique, ce qui simplifie le traitement en aval du produit final.
