ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to the production of unsupported pile surfaced polymeric material by feeding a polymeric material and a backing to a heated surface so that it adheres to the backing and sticks lightly to the surface and then parting the material from the surface so that fibrils are pulled out by the surface and finally separating the backing from the pilous polymeric material.
