L'invention concerne un procédé de production de tissus tricotés en chaîne à partir de fils discontinus naturels ou synthétiques, constitués au moins à 50 % de fils de fibre discontinue, ou de fils constitués au moins à 50 % de fibre discontinue. Les fils tricotés en chaîne sont travaillés dans un métier à tisser tout en étant exposés à un courant d'air. L'invention concerne également les tissus tricotés en chaîne à partir des fibres discontinues ainsi obtenus, et l'appareil permettant de fabriquer ces tissus.
