Abstract Resins which are substantially white and resistant to yello- wing are obtained by the addition of ammonium or alkali phosphates or ammonium or alkali borates during the production or processing of melamine-phenol-aldehyde resins in an aqueous basic medium, and by subsequently obtaining the resin by dehydration at a temperature of at least 70°C.
