ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to a process for the pre- paration of zinc 2-mercaptopyridine-N-oxide in a readily filter- able, washable and easily suspendable form which comrises react- ing an aqueous solution of an alkali metal salt of 2-mercapto- pyridine-N-oxide with an aqueous solution of a water soluble zinc salt at a temperature of 35 to 100°C in the presence of an at least partially water soluble organic solvent to form a precipi- tate of zinc 2-mercaptopyridine-N-oxide, recovering the said crys- tals and optionally comminuting the crystals.
