The invention relates to a process for the purification of pretreated, especially cooled, dedusted and/or compressed gasification gas. According to the invention, for CO conversion, the pretreated gasification gas, which contains mainly hydrogen (H2) but also water vapor (H2O), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen cyanide (HCN), and in most cases H2S, is directed over a catalytic fixed bed.
