L'invention concerne dans un procédé de synthèse d'acides chloracétiques par chloration d'acide acétique en présence d'anhydride acétique ou de chlorure d'acétyle et qui sous produit un courant gazeux d'acide chlorhydrique brut, le perfectionnement comprenant : a/ la mise en contact de ce courant gazeux avec du charbon actif jusqu'à disparition du chlore qui y était contenu, b/ la séparation, dans le courant obtenu en a, à l'aide d'au moins une compression et un refroidissement (i) de l'acide chlorhydrique pur et (ii) des autres produits, c/ le recyclage des autres produits (ii) dans le réacteur de synthèse d'acides chloracétiques.
